A native of Illinois, Nancy is one of two children born into a home where she was given many opportunities and encouraged to develop her talents. Her parents were faithful and energetic supporters of her many extra-curricular activities.
Nancy's first exposure to calligraphy came in high school when an aunt gave her a calligraphy pen set for her birthday. Her abilities in calligraphy, however, lay somewhat undiscovered while she pursued some of the other big priorities of life - college, marriage, employment, etc. After a few years of marriage, she took up a calligraphy pen she happened upon and immediately her talent for this kind of art became apparent. She was propelled into a more serious development of this gift when a friend commissioned her to do a calligraphy piece for a wedding gift.
Following the birth of her first child, it occurred to Nancy that she might be able to use her talents in calligraphy to supplement the family income while maintaining her God-given priorities as a wife and mother. In the last 18 years, she has displayed her work in several juried arts & crafts shows in the Southeast and in private viewings in some Greenville area homes. Her participation in such events is now quite limited because of her busy family schedule and the growing demand for her artwork.
Nancy is a loving wife and the incredibly talented mother of two, living in Greenville, SC. Her calligraphies grace the walls of many homes, churches, and businesses, not only in the immediate area, but even around the world as her handiwork is often sent to encourage and inspire people in far away places. Her heart's desire is that the Person and Work of Jesus Christ will be clearly seen in her efforts.
